1990's Mariners - Ken Griffey, Jr. Game-Worn Cap From the Gehring Collection

This is the exact style cap that baseball fans everywhere fell in love with when Ken Griffey Jr. entered the batting cage with his lid flipped backwards. Offered is a very early style Seattle Mariners cap worn by The Kid. This hat shows nice use throughout and features "24" markered under the brim.  Cap is 7 1/8 and tag reads "59/50" is th eonly cap worn on the field of play by every major league baseball player."  The proper "New Era" and "Diamond Collection" tags have been stitched in the sweatband.

This comes from the Dr. William Gehring collection. Gehring is an established collector whose vast treasure accumulation was written about during the days of the strike (August 25, 1981) in the Pennsylvania newspaper, The Evening Sun. He collected just about everything and acquired many items directly from the teams and players themselves.
