1985 Super Bowl XIX Season - San Francisco 49ers - Ronnie Lott Game-Worn Home Jersey w/Multiple Repairs & Custom Sleeve Extensions
Ronnie Lott was considered one of the best defensive ends to play the game in the NFL. His number #42 was retired by the 49ers and he joined the Hall of Fame in 2000. Presented is one of his game worn jerseys from early 1985 - the 49ers Super Bowl XIX season. The color and style of the jersey was made in 1984. This one was dated to 1985 because of the unique full block style nameplate that it has. The progression of nameplate font went from non-block to full block style with the Niners.
Tagging on front shows it is a Russell Athletic size 44 and the identifiers and sleeve stripes are screened on. Also to note, the overall fit style is for a long body and big shoulders like Lott. It shows great wear with hit marks and multiple repairs (concentrated on right side). It's most defined by the custom extended fabric measuring a whopping 9" (of fabric) in the arms. Lott used to wear big shoulder pads and in many instances cut the fabric in his arms to support them. However, the NFL wasn't into it and subsequently put an end to him cutting his sleeves. Hence, the extra supportive material was added which is presented here as a unique Lott jersey gamer characteristic. Overall, a great HOFer jersey.
