1968 Atlanta Braves Hank Aaron Game-Worn Wilson Cap
Aaron was signed by the Milwaukee Braves in 1954. During his days in Atlanta, Aaron reached a number of milestones; he was only the eighth player ever to hit 500 career home runs, with his 500th coming against Mike McCormick of the San Francisco Giants on July 14, 1968—exactly one year after former teammate Eddie Mathews had hit his 500th. He was, at the time, the second-youngest player to attain that plateau.
On the inner band of this blue road style cap is the “Wilson” manufacturers tag. Adjacent is the size “7-1/4” stamped in black. Under the band is the same stamp along with Wilson date code “AXC” indicating the cap was manufactured in 1968. There is also a size “7-1/4” flag tag. Under the bill is player number “44” written in black marker. "Hank Aaron" autographed the bill in blue under his number "44". Navy blue cap with team “A” on top embroidered in white. The cap shows nice game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
