Burwell Puller Autographed 3.5x4.5 Black and White Original Photo Marine Navy Cross

Chesty Lewis Burwell Puller (1898-1971) American Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Pulller rose from private to lieutenant general. His is the most decorated Marine in history. Puller was the first, and only Marine to receive the Navy Cross, the US Navy's second highest decoration after the Medal of Honor, five times. During his career, he fought guerillas in Haiti and Nicaragua, and participated in some of the bloodiest of World War II and the Korean War. Puller retired from the Marine Corps in 1955spending the rest of his life in Virginia. This is a vintage sepia snapshot of Puller holding a drink and surrounded by young officers at a special event. Signed in black ink, "Lewiss Burwell Puller, U.S.M.?.C. 1962" Signature is slightly smudged light creasing in right margin. Extremely rare for Puller to sign a photo let alone a candid one as this.
