1999 San Diego Padres - Tony Gwynn Game-Worn Jersey (Hit #2963 vs. Chicago)

The reason Tony Gwynn was such an accomplished hitter was he outworked everyone. Hitting was a way of life for the Hall of Fame slugger. This size "50" jersey was worn by Gwynn when his hits were racking up. This one was for the game on 4-30-99 in which he hit #2963 against Chicago. The details of the game were monogrammed on the reverse as well as marked on the front tail tag in ballpoint. The tail tag also shows it is a Russell Athletic jersey size "50" with a fabric flag affixed. Gwynn signed the back in silver paint pen ("9") for good measure.
