Commodore Oscar Smith was an officer and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1908 and became a Commodore during World War 2 and in 1944 he became the head of the Guided Missiles Committee which explored every guided missile and drone project currently under development.
Here are six US Navy dress buttons and four uniform stripes from Commodore Oscar Smith. Also included in the original box from Vanguard Military Equipment Corporation are two "Collar Devices" in gold with black backing with the ship's anchor and star symbol. Next is the sword knot, worn when carrying the sword in ceremonial duties. Furthermore is Commodore Oscar Smith's US Navy wooden desk name plate with his name engraved on a placard and screwed into the wooden base. All mahogany colored wooden desk plate with green felt bottom. This shows usage as expected with the felt at the bottom showing heavy usage.
