1940s WWII US Navy VJ 6 Personnel Photo Album with 112 Vintage Photos from the Commodore Oscar Smith Collection
Commodore Oscar Smith was an officer and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1908 and became a Commodore during World War 2 and in 1944 he became the head of the Guided Missiles Committee which explored every guided missile and drone project currently under development - the precursor to our current drone operations feared by terrorist worldwide.
Commodore Oscar Smith's collected over 100 photographs of the the Air Force personel in his life in this heavy bound black book. Including: Lieutenant Commander, Robert P. Jones, Lieutenant Commander Stephen E. Jones, Lieutenant Commander James A Smith, Lieutenant Commander Stanley L Peck, Lieutenant Commander Robert M Bolton, Leiutenant Commander Ross J Plaisted, Lieutenant Fred Wallace, Lieutenant William M Bowlin, Lieutenant Clayton W. Bailey & Lieutenant Leroy E Powell are just some of the 112 vintage photographs collected by Commodore Oscar Smith in this bound black-clad book. 90 of the photos are still in the book affixed to a backing and on about 20 the page has seperated from the book, but the photos are still affixed to the backing from the book and have been well cared for. are still in the book.
These photos are high glossy black and white variety in incredible condition. On high quality photo stock and affixed to a heavy paper backing in this book, they show almost no wear and overall would rank a 9+. The pages they are affixed to do have excessive wear on the edges and especially the corners and showing seperation, however they don't detract or intrude on these high quality photos.
Being an Air Force Commodore, his comrads in arms were his life and he kept this almost 6 pound book of memories for the personel he commanded.
