Unique & Personal 1983 Steve Carlton Signed & Inscribed "300th Win" Celebration Champagne Bottle, with JSA Certification
Actual bottle of Moet et Chandon champagne enjoyed by Hall of Famer Steve Carlton to celebrate an incredible milestone in his legendary career and legacy: 300 wins. In a career highlighted by 4 Cy Young Awards, 2 World Series championships, ten All-Star appearances, etc., the achievement of 300 wins remains the most daunting and exclusive for any pitcher, as it requires a magical combination of dominance, skill, physicality, team, longevity and... luck. Carlton had all, and his 329 wins are second only to Warren Spahn for lefties.
Offered is evidence from a victorious September 24th, 1983 evening in which Lefty toasted and drank to his 300th "W", following a 6-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals, and joining baseball's most exclusive fraterntity. Solid provenance is provided in the form of a label inscribed and signed by Carlton to our consignor, "9/24/83, Mark, Great time, Thanks #300, Steve Carlton, #33."
This is an utterly unique display piece and significant memento from one of baseball's greatest players. Inscription and signature are authenticated by expert James Spence. His cert and matching hologram affixed to opposite side of bottle accompany.
