1998 San Diego Padres - Tony Gwynn Game-Worn / Used, Signed Alternate Jersey (Worn on 4/13/98 - 2800th Hit Game) (Family LOA)
PHOTOS WILL BE UPLOADED SHORTLY!
The reason Tony Gwynn was such an accomplished hitter was he outworked everyone. Hitting was a way of life for the Hall of Fame slugger. This size "50" navy alternate jersey was worn by Gwynn the day he had his 2800th hit (4/13/98). "PADRES" is across the chest in three-color drop shadow formation on the front. A Padre patch resides on the left sleeve. "GWYNN" is arched on the verso in single-color white tackle twill.
Some use is exhibited on the jersey with soft tagging, mild fraying on identifiers etc. The tail features a Russell Athletic size 50 label with the black felt tip game day notation, "#2800 4-13-98". For an added value, Gwynn signed the verso orange "1" in black felt tip. This item originates from Alicia Gwynn and Bernie Brown and includes their COA along with an additional provenance letter.
