Rock Drummer Guns N' Roses & Velvet Revolver - Matt Sorum Personal Used, Signed Chrome Mahogany Drum Kit Set with Signed GN'R Front Cover & Designer Chair Seat (Incl. Letter From Sorum)
Master percussionist Matt Sorum, uses his drum set to speak to the people. Each rhythmical hit, tap and smash can send electrical shockwaves of joy through the body fans who just want to rock out at a concert.
Sourm helped sell 30 million records as the drummer of Guns N’ Roses. In 1990, he stepped in and helped them record the landmark albums Use Your Illusion I & II. Next, came a marathon (three years) of touring with the group before dropping his final contribution with them, “The Spaghetti Incident?” which brought two Grammy nominations.
Sourm moved on from the band in 1997 and went behind the studio board for a bit. The drums called him back to the stage shortly thereafter. The Cult took him back to the roots of his rock resume for two years. Then the supergroup of Velvet Revolver brought him back to the stage with fellow GN’R vets Duff McKagen and Slash along with Scott Weiland from STP.
Presented is a DW drum kit that Sorum used to rock out on during his days with GN’R and Velvet Revolver (hence, the sparkly purple hue). The kit is custom with chrome and made from a special optimum sound processed mahogany. A new set like this would cost in the $20k range but with Sorum’s added rock value it is essentially priceless!
Sorum gave this set to his friend who custom designed his leather drum seat, Amal Guessous. Guessous is a well-known clothing designer currently under the label A&G. Sorum signed the drum heads for him in black felt tip, “A & G You REALLY ARE #1 – The Coolest EVER! THANKS! And, “SET UP BY MATT SO RUN VELVET REVOLVER HIT ME HARD.” Also included for the winner is a front GN'R logo cover signed by Sorum.
A provenance letter from the owner will attend the listing along with a signed letter from Sorum. You can’t get any better provenance than that!
Helpful BidAMI tips: 1) Make sure you save some room for this glorious ensemble. 2) Close the windows and/or garage door. 3) Put your hair in a pony tail (yeah, we know you still pray to the hairband Gods). 4) Get new drumheads (Sorum signed them, don't want to ruin them). 5) Go ahead and Rock Out!
Check out that Matt Sorum uses this type of drum as he has DW Drums and Zildjan Cymbals listed on his site.
