Sarah Jessica Parker "Sex and the City" Worn Dress
This pink chiffon Richard Tyler Couture dress was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker during the "Sex and the City" Season 3 episode "Cock-a-doodle-do." This was the dress she wore when she met with Mr. Big at a restaurant in Central Park. Later, memorably, she fell into the Central Park lake with Mr. Big.
The dress is an appriximate size 2 and has an assymetrical pleated hemline with small cupped sleeves. The material is decorated with a hand painted floral print. Below the "RICHARD TYLER COUTURE" label in the neckline is a care label with an "A" written on. Sarah Jessica Parker has signed the dress; however, the ink does not go through to the back of the dress.
Sex and the City, the iconic sit-com that ran on HBO from 1998 until 2004 starred actresses Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs) and Chris Noth (Mr. Big). In the last episode of Season 3 (aired October 15, 2000) Carrie agrees to meet with Mr. Big for the first time since his marriage ended as they attempt to establish a form of friendship. Carrie promises Miranda she will NOT kiss Mr. Big. They agree to meet at a restaurant in Central Park (scene filmed at The Boathouse Restaurant). The restaurant is along side the Central Park lake. They greet each other as they are standing on a boat rental dock to the left of the restaurant's entrance. As they exchange greetings Mr. Big leans into Carrie to kiss her, but she has her head turned and as she returns to look at him she remembers her promise to Miranda and startled they both fall into the lake. Here is the scene:
There were two similar dresses made for this episode; however, this is the exact dress that was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker during the filming of the famous scene. The second dress resides at the Museum Victoria in Australia.
The unique floral patterns on the dress can be photo-matched to images of Carrie as she is walking to meet Mr. Big and as she is standing with him. Sarah Jessica Parker has signed an 8.5"X13" color photo of her wearing this dress. The photo will be included with the dress.
This dress was donated directly by Sarah Jessica Parker for a charity auction in 2001. A letter of authenticity from the original owner will accompany this stunning dress.
